Team Pros battle for bragging rights in SCOOP 2016 leaderboard challenge

Spring has finally sprung and there's a huge sense of excitement this week as poker players all over the world prepare for the biggest ever PokerStars Spring Championship of Online Poker, which begins in just three days. With a total of 55 events at Low, Medium and High buy-in levels, there's a massive 165 SCOOP watches to battle for and a tournament for everyone.

Members of Team PokerStars Pro and Team PokerStars Pro Online are getting into the competitive spirit more than ever this year, with the addition of a Team PokerStars SCOOP 2016 Leaderboard that will see one Team Pro win ultimate bragging rights.

What's more, poker players and fans can root for their favourite Team Pros throughout the series by following their Twitter feeds and visiting this Blog page for regular updates of the Team PokerStars SCOOP 2016 Leaderboard. For those who really want to put their money where their mouth is, there's even a BetStars market available for people to bet on the Team Pro they think will win.

The current favourite is Jason Mercier at 5/1 (6.0), who has vowed to win SCOOP Player of the Year for the second year running, after his stunning triumph in 2015 when he took down three SCOOP events. But he won't have it all his own way. Chasing the title, too, is George Danzer, who finished runner-up on the SCOOP Overall Leaderboard in 2013 and 2014. To add a little extra spice the two players have even agreed to have a $10k prop bet on who finishes higher!

But it just might be someone else who steals the glory. There are more than 30 other members of Team PokerStars, including the likes of Bertrand 'ElkY' Grospellier, Randy 'nanonoko' Lew and Twitch-stream specialist, Jaime Staples, who will all be confident going into the biggest online tournament series of the year. Who's your money on?
