ACOP High Roller Event: Lock it out

The players in the Asia Championship of Poker (ACOP) High Roller Event have returned from their dinner break with three more levels to play out until their day is done. With the Main Event still stuck on the four players remaining, you would suspect that the High Roller players will be out of here and tucked up in bed before the Main Event champion is crowned.

With the dinner break also came the end of the registration period. A couple of late arrivals boosted the total number of entries to 34. There were also nine rebuys which means that the total prize pool came in at a very impressive HK$10,216,800. Some of those who took advantage of the rebuy included Mikael Thuritz, Paul Newey, Jeff Rossiter and Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier.

The top five players will finish in the money with the payouts as follows:

1st HK$4,086,700
2nd HK$2,452,000
3rd HK$1,634,700
4th HK$1,226,000
5th HK$817,400

The current chip leader is Russian high-stakes crusher Vladimir Troyanovskiy with a stack of over 1.5 million in chips (from a 250k start bank). Brandon Meyers, Yu Liang and the defending champion Jonathan Karamalikis are also going strong.

The rapid structure of this one has ensured there have been quite a few casualties with just 20 players still in contention at the time of writing. Some of those who have fallen include Tom Alner, Michael Tureniec, Aaron Lim, Tom Middleton and David Vamplew.

We'll endeavour to provide another update from the High Roller event towards the end of the day's play, before providing full live coverage of the final table for you tomorrow afternoon.

In between ACOP events, some of our Team PokerStars Pros jumped into the new PokerPro cash game tables here in the PokerStars LIVE Macau poker room. All reports were positive as hostess Sarah Grant found out:
