Last month, Viña del Mar hosted a week-long International Song Festival headlined by Diego Torres, Marc Antony and Luis Miguel. The festival is a city tradition that 1960 and is considered one of the most important music festivals in the continent.

Around the same time, there was another world-class event taking place right next door. Valparaíso -- a quick 7km train ride away -- was hosting the annual Valparaíso Cerro Abajo Race.

This race is like no other.

The best mountain bikers from across the world come to compete in this 2km adrenaline-packed downhill race.

Downhill almost feels like an understatement when describing this race, free fall would seem more appropriate. This year, Mauricio Acuña bested the field and finished the course in 2:38.35.

Here's a video of last year's course, but be warned, it's intense.

Warning! persons with the following conditions should not watch: Heart conditions, abnormal blood pressure and motion sickness or dizziness and expectant mothers.
